Moving can really be a stressful and difficult task, if you don't know what you are doing. But there are simple ways to make sure that your move goes as smoothly and as efficiently as possible.
One is to plan well and ahead before your move. Even when things aren't finalized yet, you can go ahead and do some initial research so you can make more informed decisions in the future. Once things start to become clearer, develop a plan about how you'll be going about the move - hiring movers, looking / inspecting your new home, packing, and all the other tasks. Establish a timeline for all of these. It's also important that you involve, if applicable, all the other people who will be moving with you, so that they are given enough notice and time to make their own individual preparations.
 
Packing is also another aspect you need to take care in doing. Packing by room is the best way to go, so that you are able to unpack better when you get your new home. Be sure to pack breakable items carefully using materials like bubble wrap and packing peanuts, and label each box accordingly - boxes with fragile items should be labeled as such.
